Missing Man Kim Whitehurst Found Dead – The Winston-Salem community is mourning the loss of 69-year-old Kim Whitehurst, whose body was tragically found after being missing for over a week. Kim’s death has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and those who knew him.

Kim was last seen on January 5, 2025, when his son, Sam Whitehurst, discovered him missing from his apartment after a routine food drop-off. Kim, who had been showing signs of what his family believes to be early-stage dementia, was reported as a high-risk missing person. His son’s search for him in the building led to a heartbreaking conversation with an administrator who recognized Kim’s name and shared that she had been searching for him all day.

On Friday, January 17, 2025, at approximately 4:26 p.m., the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to a call in the area of the 3100 block of Minart Drive, where Kim’s body was found in a deep ravine. Authorities have confirmed his identity, but the exact time of his death has not yet been determined. A full examination by the medical examiner is expected to provide further details.
